My daughter

It was a beautiful summer morning
The birds and squirrels singing in chirps and squeaks
A preview to a perfect day

Silent prayers spills from my lips
Palms in tightened grips
A single wish in mind

A third note echoes
The cry of a baby born
My heart sings in esctasy

My legs racing to it's source
And there she was
My joy in flesh and blood

Cradled in her mother's arm
Her eyes a mirror of perfection
Her face an ethereal glow

An angel from heaven above
A light to all my darkness
And as I held her in my arms

I knew there and then
I would love her with all i had
For she was my daughter.
