the bamboo
and life grows like bamboo
always getting taller and taller
that the leaves are unreachable.

we both got two feet
a bag full of stones and
a baby boy with the same eyes as you.

you work as a regular teacher
chalks and kids, your crimeless passion
always better than a diswasher
on an old town restaurant.

while my boy calls me a robot-maker
as i put wheels on his box machine.

we give him a yard to run
a tree house to climb
a telescope for the starry nights, and
a home to grow with laughter and memories.

then you quit your job seven years later
and started selling mangoes in our garage
while i make baskets in the afternoon
to put a smile on your pretty face.

money was a little bit of a problem
so i went abroad to work as a mechanic
and fulfill my dream job
to raise our child.

and life grows like bamboo
always getting braver and braver
that the trunks are unbreakable.
