Roses are red,
violets are blue
I don't know how to write a poem
so what should I do?

The first two lines are not even mine
The other two don't even rhyme
I guess I should stick with things I can
rather than trying to make rhymes

poets do really try
I wonder how they stay up all night
trying to figure out words that do rhyme
I don't ever think I can dedicate that much time

But here I am
trying to put a word or two together
Even I would not call it a poem
Because I know I'm not even a poet.
