Meaningless Cohabitation
Candlelight flickers in your eyes
I admire my dancing reflection
You start to whisper your sweetened lies
I accept them easily without rejection
We both know we are not bliss
We don’t flow but are good at pretending
I reciprocate your meaningless dry kiss
We continue to force what is already ending
An empty promise that we both keep
We lie to the world because its convenient
Change takes energy we both need sleep
We both let our hearts remain lenient
A relationship built from habit
We are lost in a meaningless cohabit
