Tightrope
Thy hand cant offer a precious stone,
nor give us a land to call our own,
on this table delish food haven't shown.
Life full of joy and love is what have known.
I wrote you my vows and gave thee my life.
With thy promise, "together we will fight";
"even if every hope seems out of sight".
Take my hand and life as we hold on tight.
I love thee not for the things you can give,
or the life that you promised us to live.
Whenever I need thee, you never leave,
and the love that we have learned not to cleave.
Under the dripping roof we built a dream,
"Someday this home will paint a different gleam";
"A bountiful living is all it seem".
With steadfast hope this is what we deem.
One night with grieving voice thee held my hand;
"I beg thee if I let you live this land",
"Where cold and hunger needs to withstand".
"I know dear this is not how it was planned";
Before a fall of tear bequeath my eyes,
I held thy fallen hopes and help them rise.
"I chose this life not because of its prize";
"but how you brought light to my dark skies".
I will not look for gems thee can't offer,
the love we vowed is what we will prosper.
If one day this life wants us to suffer,
remind thyself with love for each other.
Dear, I will walk even to tightest rope,
I will hold thee when life is in slope.
Take my hand and all of these we can cope,
with our love rekindle dying hope.
