only the writer can know
why they write what they write,
only they can know
which words would seem right

only they can paint that picture
from words that may seem dead,
writing something is one thing
but the whole thing's in your head

who can better understand
these rhymes than the one who wrote?
who can read a letter better
than the writer of the note?

who can know just when to rhyme
and when to stop or pause?
it's only the writer than can perfect the lines
that people read as flaws

only a writer can know how
and when and where and why,
only they can have the true emotion
if the poem is meant to laugh or cry.

only the writer can know....
