In the Morning
I've been up for hours
sifting through nightmares
tangled up in spiderwebs
drifting through my brain

You come out with messy hair
and a big t-shirt
glowing through tiptoes and door creaks
I hope you never change

I'm so tired and lonesome
but I emerge anyways
just to spend some time with you
and see your face

We sit in silence over tea and coffee
and despite my heavy and bloodshot eyes
you'll never know how much this time means to me
I've never felt more alive

The first words you say
always hit me like a tidal wave
But no, I'm not afraid to swim
I'm always ready to take a nose dive

If I can't find a breath between your words
or if they take away the light
if my choices are your voice or this life
then I wouldn't mind it if I died

I wish somebody else looked as good as you do
in the morning
so I could pack my bags and leave the same way you did
without warning
And I know you still my love deep down in your heart
I know it's burning

I'd give up everything that I've wished for in this life
to wake up with you in my arms just one more time
Until then this bed will feel empty if you're not laying by my side
in the morning
