Nothingness
I stood there, at the edge of the cliff, all alone.
I gazed out into the nothingness as I gasped for air.
Choking on desperation, I say:
“Is anyone going to love me?”
You stood to my left, staring at me with a warm smile
“I will”, your voice melted through your teeth like butter.
My eyes widen as the nothingness swallows another piece of me,
The edge narrowing with each second; I wish I had heard you that day.
“What am I doing wrong?”, my sobs tumbling...
