The Stranger In My Heart
The stranger who once was to me
Now lives inside my heart
I never saw it coming
And I got no running start
With mastery and precision
He slipped between the cracks
He brought in all the love he'd need
And covered up the tracks
He knew what he was looking for
And found the hollow hole
He said he felt it drawing him--
The lost twin to his soul
It never felt intrusive
It was smooth as it could be
He gently honed a little niche--
And fully awakened me
Now he knows both heart and soul
And fills them up with love
In ways I never, ever felt
I'd be so in awe of
As he bestowed proper reverence
He's traced my every curve
He followed all my contours
Gave me shudders with his verve
This stranger who once was to me
No longer one unknown
Now with mind, body, heart, and soul
Together, our hearts have grown
