A NEW DAY
I feel as I'm walking,
blindfolded,
through a tunnel.
There days,
I can see light.
So I'll hurry,
hurry,
only to ware down.
Then stumble and fall.
Now the lights gone.
Darkness,
is all I can see.
Many days and nights,
I'll sleep.
Only to wake up,
to do it all again.
I often say,
this is it.
Today,
I'm going to start to make my way out.
Then it isn't long,
I'll trip up,
and fall again.
To watch the light,
turn dark again.
If I could just remove my blindfold,
or would it even matter?
It still would be dark.
I'd just be able to make out more light,
at the end.
I'll sleep tonight,
so tomorrow,
I can try again.
Soon hopefully,
this will be over.
Then I'll be able to see,
the light of day.
The start of a new journey,
a new day.
