The End
#WritcoPoemChallenge
The journey has come to an end,
Weaving through meandering paths,
Sometimes alone, often with a friend
I watch as under the light the world baths.
Wailed out at the very start, that was day one
So lost, so home, confused and stunned
Flipped those calendars, watched time outrun
Love was all that I'd need, not any refund.
Always if light wins, why raise the dark
Always if truth shines, why are lies muttered out
Always if hero's glorious, why give villain a redemption arc
The questioning hour began, moved on the desired route.
Hours tocked off, so many birthdays celebrated
Age a mere number, count a mere tally
Lessons learnt throughout, time to create a new created
Hereby, at foot of the tree, one day on top I'd dillydally.
Things all covered and bound, ready for farewell
At the junction still I'd stand, seeing the world impart
Newer speeches, equal mankind, no peasant, no noble
I know my journey has ended, yet why does it feel like another start?
