I like the ocean
Hypnotising waves,
gentle and calm
singing me to sleep

I like the ocean
Angry and cold,
crushing bones
pulling to the darkness
hiding beneath

I like the ocean
Generous of life,
yet so greedy
Eating away mountains,
and swallowing boats.

I like the ocean
reaching out at the horizon
for the glittering sky
almost there, yet
a few more miles away.
