IN CELEBRATION OF BEING HEARTLESS
I watched an infant crying in hunger
as he sucked his tiny little thumb.
Noticing not his cry I choose to ponder-

I watched a young man sitting on a corner
as he hits himself over and over...

Noticing not his cry I choose to ponder-
pondering where his mother is.
Unbothered, I watched him cry for an hour or two
and left, whistling my favourite song.
I watched a young man sitting on a corner
as he hits himself over and over...
