I faded from my pleasant dream
awakened by a distant scream
and the sound of shattered glass
such a racket such a roar
I'd never heard such noise before
I had no idea what might have come to pass
I pulled the blind and looked outside
Unprepared for what I spied
It seemed as if the entire world went mad
Flaming rocks fell everywhere
People cried out in despair
Things were looking really bad
I watched it as it burnt away
What could I do what could I say?
And I briefly thought of things I never said
And all that I'd done right and wrong
My memory's didn't linger long
So I sighed and put myself right back to bed
