An early start to beat the heat
Cutting the grass to make it look neat
Digging the borders to free them from weeds
Being quite careful not to scatter their seeds
Too hot to work now over thirty degrees
Having a job getting up off my knees
Put away the equipment and heading back home
Garden can't be finished in a day then neither was Rome
Need a cold shower and a nice cup of tea
Then a seat in the shade that's where I'll be.
