Compassion, HIV in our society
What is HIV?
It is a virus that can affect anyone of us.
It attacks the immune system.
Making a person vulnerable to other infections.
It is life changing.
Only those that living the life Of having HIV, know what it feels like
To be a victim of it.
The snare of having the fear, of people finding out.
Questions in the mind loudly shout.
What will they think of me?
How will they behave towards me?
Stigma and discrimination Drooling from society.
But let us abolish that type of mentality.
No, you cannot get it by hugging or shaking hands.
Neither from coughing , sneezing or just being around an infected person.
The virus can only be transmitted through sex, sharing of needles Or a mother giving her baby during pregnancy.
I’m not saying not to take HIV seriously.
We should all be educated properly.
Taking on the responsibility.
Consciously protecting ourselves and the people we love and family.
Having the knowledge about this virus, you can truly understand.
What people are facing in this land.
People that have HIV are humans too.
So let us not treat them unfair.
But handle the situation with compassion and care.
Help them to help fight the virus.
And in this time of Covid.
Be supportive.
