The old me died and I was born again,
The old me used to live a life drowning in sin.
Crying out from the bondages of iniquity,
Feeling lost and trembling with anxiety.
Left alone depressed and broken,
Unsure of how to deal with all these emotions.
Temptations of the world that I used to choose,
Satan made for me a noose.
Oh how deep my soul was in the lake of burning sulfur,
But the Lord reached His hand out to me so that I would not suffer.
He came to me like a light in my darkest hour,
Freed me from my chains with the Holy Spirit power.
A soul that was once heading to damnation,
Chose the narrow path that leads to salvation.
Baptized with water and Holy Spirit fire,
In Christ a new creation acquired.
The blood of Jesus washed my sins and removed the stain,
The old me died and I became born again.
