You walk beside them,
wanting to run the other direction.
But what's the point. Where's the logic in it.
But also, where is the logic in not running?
What is considered a sane reaction?
Accepting that you lost or picking up your feet to at least make an effort to win?

I'm not so sure.
What I do know; what I've learned,
is walking quietly with the hand that caught you won't end in quiet.
Because when you're walking there is hope of an escape all around. Until the moment you step foot into the barriers and hope goes away.
Your restraint to remain calm does not stay.
You can put on a brave face but the hand that is around your arm will feel you want to pull away.
Your mask will fall.

Mine always has.
Because there's always going to be a biological part of you that wants to survive even though you tell yourself you could care less.
That's why there is hesitation before you do something or hesitation directly after you've done something.
Pain hurts, your body knows that.
A body doesn't want pain.
Your mind might feel the need to feel it but your body doesn't.

That's why you pull away from the hands that take you, even if you know you aren't getting away. You'll still want to...
