The zealots and evangelists;
atheists and all else in between,
are proclaiming much more staunchly
in recent days it seems.

I see lots of screaming red-faced men
of faith and disbelief,
preaching on their platforms,
screeching on their street corners
with such wild pomp and mad theatrics—
quite the performance indeed.

Handing out their sacraments,
listing woes and pleading me
to change my ways, my dreams,
my wants and needs—
their worldview bleeding through my own—
or so they hope.

For do they not know
their drops of bitter ink,
spat out betwixt their lips,
unmove the nature in which I think?
They taint the taste within their truths
where they so richly bask and sink.
As how a horse can be led to the clearest water
but cannot be made to drink.
