What is life without heartbreak?

And yet, I never liked writing

Excessively sappy sad pieces

About betrayal, cheating

Or getting ghosted.

Which, by now, I’m convinced

most people have gone through

Once in their life, trying to find someone.

More often, we are indignant because

someone we really liked,

 didn’t reply back

or give us the amount of attention

Tantamount to the efforts we gave for them.

Social media is full of people

who say they have gone through this,

while never realizing

Or realizing, at a much later age,

That you cannot force love.

Beg for someone’s attention

As much as you want.

They will only give you

what you make them feel

You are deserving of, from them.

This is something I learnt much later in life,

And pretty much no one ever relays this forward

After knowing it themselves.

That you should not expect

anything from anyone.

People will come and go in your life,

As they like or dislike you

In that given moment of time.
