The duality of balance
For all good, there is evil
For every yin, A yang
We say "A balance must occur"
I say, such things are absurd

For to have balance
One must walk a line
Of both good AND evil
At all times

Obtaining true balance is a lie
For opposites attract
And these opposites wage war
They only attack

To walk that border
Is to risk it all
For your mind is the victim
Bound to crawl

A balance doesnt exist
For the common folk
Which is why, we all rely
On a wish called hope

Both sides are pesky
And give no ground
A silent battle
Which has no sound

Most wont see
The tightrope we walk
The battles are fought
In the form of thought

"Best pick a side"
Some may say
So its our job to choose
The bed in which we lay

A cushion of thorns
Which feels so soft
Or a cushion of clouds
That feels fiery hot

Free will
A choice to choose
Bittersweet
Both of which, you win and lose

Temporary suffering, for eternal bliss
Or visual joy, for eternal pain
A "quid pro quo", if you will
Amidst the battle, a choice remains

For if you ride the line
Of both good and evil
Chaos insues in your mind
A pain unnoticed, by most people

So dont listen
To people that made a decision
And heed to those that rode
Down that treacherous tightrope

Holding onto wishes
And dreams alike
Keeping a wish called hope, in their heart
While the mind's war they fight
