Seeking Souls
I was young,
When the yoke of fate,
First forced me to my knees.
She was as radiant as a ray,
From the shining sun.
A vista walking through my village.
We were to be wed,
But the night of our nuptials never came.
As Helios hung near the horizon,
A horde of horses,
Hurried by hungered hunters,
hammered through our hamlet.
Heaven begot Hell,
As I searched for my sweet,
Seeking through the slashing, and smashing,
A scream sounded,
And my soul shattered.
She laid bare and broken,
Ravaged and ragged,
Her corpse cruelly carved,
She rested on sand reddened,
By beads of blood.
Her hair was stained,
A sea of sanguine.
