Dreams and Blessings
I thought he wanted me
I thought he was on my team
Dream Dream
It was all a dream
Little did I know
He wanted the other team
The guy he claimed that was his friend
He secretly rubbed off too
When nobody was looking
What's sad is that he asked me to marry him
I said I do I put his ring on and birthed his children
He gave me something to believe in
He lied to my face I thought we were winning
The things I ignored now I'm questioning myself
Did I know all along?
Did I ignore the facts for my health?
Or did I ignore the truth for my wealth?
Or was I really using him like a step on my path?
The bad win first and the nice finish last
Those late night phone calls reminiscing over the past
He couldn't wait to get away from his family
to dial the number on his phone
that loved the most
Obsessessed with this man
he framed as his friend
The one he loved too chased
ignoring his wife just too see his friend face
Dreading his life
working extra hours at his workplace
He often fantasized about living at his friend place
To smoke, To Drink, To make love all night
He never wanted his blessing
That's why he was always stressing
He was afraid of Confessing
How embarrassing would it be if his friend denied him
What if what his friend wanted was his friend woman
His wife was the angel in his Dream
Dream Dream
The love he always looked for
The one he really wanted on his team
For year's he tried to push them away
So he could come in for the win
and get his friend to stray
All those late night phone calls had him taking notes
Led him to studying
and practicing on how to
become a better man and
turn his friends mistake into his blessing
Now the ex-husband is living in a nightmare
with nowhere to go and
No one dialing his phone to care
watching his friend and ex-wife
Living their dream from an answered prayer
