I've Been There Too
If the weight on your back,
Keeps pulling you down,
And if your head is missing,
That golden crown.
Then don't think,
About it all.
I know, you're on the brink,
And you feel so small.
The world is now a shadow,
Cast over your feeble shoulder.
You were once so innocent,
But now you feel much older.

I've been there,
It isn't fair.
Nobody even seems to care.
Yet if you open your eyes,
What might you see?
You'll never know if you keep them closed,
So please; trust me.
Just let go,
Forget about the pain.
And please, don't strain,
Your smile.
Make it real,
I know what you're like,
That heart of golden steel.

Do that for me,
If not for you.
And don't forget,
I've been there,too.
