Safe Haven

The sun rises and sets everyday,
An unbroken cycle of hope,
An awakening of expectations...
Still I'm living in a state of constant paranoia
Too scared to face the facts,
To step out of my bubble...
"Take time to breathe, to heal
And dive right in again"
So I'm told...
But it all seems like
A far fetched fairytale
I try so hard to believe,
To trust...
It's never been one of my strongest points
So, I'm forced to face the realization
That I've become so addicted
To being alone
To dealing with my misery
To feeling so safe and secure
In my world
Sometimes I think it's sad
But the heady feeling says otherwise
Now this has become my norm,
My safe haven.
