I can't seem to remember
The first time we met
I recall it was in September
But the rest I forget

Our first handshake
Our first encounter
I try so hard but
I just can't remember

It's in my head
Hiding somewhere in the corner of my brain
It's like an itch I can't scratch
Driving me insane

Then I think to myself
If it was worth remembering
Then I wouldn't have to force it
So in the middle of this rewardless mission
I casually abort it

But it seems so odd
How is it so hard?
To remember how we met
But how we ended
I can't seem to forget
