The intrusive future—
tangible, unreal,
forms a monologue, a dialogue,
a picture, a still,
a drama, a crime scene—
a mountain from a molehill,
a nightmare from a dream.
Immeasurable depths
in everything shallow—
faces pallid from the thoughts we weave;
from words too hard to swallow;
from air too thick to breathe.
