Memories From Two

Beneath the moon in the dim, gray sky,
My mind's filled with questions, asking why. Why did you leave without saying goodbye? Why did you go when I was saying hi?

It was midnight when it happened,
Like lightning, it made my heart broken. Crying and mourning, the only sound,
"Patay na si Papa mo," my mother whispered, profound.

I was tamed, and I was stunned,
Hearing those words, my mind was shunned.
My heart cried, shattered and cracked,
I asked myself, is this my family's fate, in fact?

Those memories from when I was two,
Still haunt me with feelings so true.
There's more than just words, I've yearned to convey,
Father, we miss you and love you each day.
