मैं अँधेरा हूँ,
तुम मुझमें कुछ देख पाओगे क्या ?
मैं पवन कि तरह बहता हूँ,
तुम मुझे हाथों में समेट पाओगे क्या ?
जिम्मेदारियों के बोझ तले,
टूटे सपनों से घिरा हुआ मैं,
ढेरों कहानियों में लिखा गया,
आँखों से ना मैं पढ़ा गया,
तुम मुझे थोड़ा भी जान पाओगे क्या ?
सोचो जान भी लिया,
तो क्या तुम मुझे
दिल में बसा पाओगे क्या ?
जो मैं कहुँ मैं तुमसा नहीं,
गैरों में, मैं रहता नहीं,
मेरी दुनिया बहुत अलग हैं
मैं तुममें से एक नहीं !
देखा मेने वो मंजर भी था,
जब मैं, मैं ना था !
वो रातें भी मेने देखी,
वो सुबह भी मैं देख आया हूँ !
अपनों में, मैं गैरों को देख आया हूँ !
गिला-शिकवा मैं अब करता नहीं,
मुझमें अब बाकी कुछ भी नहीं!
मैं आकाश सा विशाल हूँ,
तुम मुझे ढूंढ पाओगे क्या ?
मैं समुद्र सा गहरा,
मुझमे तुम तैर पाओगे क्या ?

I am darkness,
Will you be able to see something in me?
I flow like the wind,
Will you be able to hold me in your hands?
Under the burden of responsibilities,
I am surrounded by broken dreams,
Written in many stories,
But never read by the eyes,
Will you be able to know me even a little?
Just think you will,
Then will you be able to settle me in your heart?
If I say I'm not like you,
I do not live with strangers,
My world is very different,
I am not one of you!
I saw that scene too,
When I was not me!
I saw those nights too,
I have seen that morning also!
I had seen strangers among my owns!
I don't complain anymore,
There is nothing left in me now!
I am as big as the sky,

Will you be able to swim in me?
