Big Words, Little Mind
#WritcoPoemPrompt41
Write a poem including as many of the following words (or variations on these words) as you like:
solecisms, connectome, recidivous, calico, performs.

Please spare me
Your hurtful criticism,
Regarding my
Recidivous solecisms.

My connectome appearantly
Has a short circuit,
It doesn't perform quite right,
When I try to work it.

You may say that,
I'm an illiterate hillbilly,
For some of these words
Are beyond my vocabulary.

Only two of the five words,
Are all I had recognized.
And yes, I'm embarassed
My ignorance, isn't better disguised.

This poem prompt required use
Of five words from the batch.
Though, one word stood out to me,
As it didn't quite seem to match.

Most folks are aware of
The colorful cat, known as calico.
They're 99.9% female,
(You may, or may not already know.)

But, cat trivia isn't the point here;
The word didn't fit with the other four.
So I looked it up to see, if maybe,
There was something more.

Calico's a research & development company, (so my hunch was right!)
The words fit in with what they do,
According to their web site.

They study the aging process,
Hoping to slow it down,
But I don't know why; there's already too many people around.

I'll soon be 60,
& I'm already tired.
So, living twice as long
Is something quite undesired.

Calico's parent company is Google,
With whom, I seldom get along.
They give irrelevant answers,
Getting everything all wrong.

Sometimes, I snap when
They get my temper blazing!
Their 'go to come back' is always;
"7 reasons why you'll never do anything amazing!"

But, before I fly into another rant
Of how Google's become so lame,
I've learned three new words I'll never reuse, so time to end this word game!
