A Woman with a Thousand Smiles
A woman with a thousand smiles
Shining inside my display picture.
When the sky is yellow but fusing,
Fusing into dusky smoke,
Making it pearl gray mist.
And a woman weeping,
Shedding tears in silence
Behind the smile of a full set of teeth.
We hear voices coming,
Moving past, fading in the clear sky.
But we are keeping promises
That had been made long ago,
Working hard day and night,
When the rain tries to hide,
In ocean-deep, sunken eyes
Of a woman weeping hard in silence,
Disguised by a terrible smile.
