The House
#WritcoPoemChallenge
Lost in time,
weaved with memories,
It was but an old house
Lying still and strong as a tree,
Entomed with secrets, laughter and child shrieks,
It stood there, housing in it a thousand mysteries,
Where while tracing the walls with your fingers, it's story you could feel,

It was in late 90s that the tragedy tainted the house,
A predator's hunt in the dead of the night plowed,
And in the silent whisper of the wind a woman's gut-wrenching scream was heard aloud,
That night forever changed the house..

It stood there as time passed by,
Children grew up, people got old and life fizzled by,
The house grew older as the vines creeped from the sides,
As dusk settled you could see the passing shadows and flickering...
