I've made mistakes and gone astray,

Neglected myself along the way.

Putting others before my own worth,

I forgot to cherish my own birth.

I forgive me for not putting myself first.

I gave and gave until I had nothing left,

Depleted and exhausted, I was bereft.

I neglected my needs and wants for far too long,

Thinking that self-care was something I could prolong.

Forgetting that my mind and body have the thirst

I forgive me for not putting myself first

I now see the light ahead,

And choose to forgive myself instead.

For every time I let myself down,

I'll turn it around and pick back up my crown.

I'll speak up for my needs, my dreams, my desires,

And cast away fears, doubts and other liars.

I'll start to let the past go

And embrace new choices that help me grow.

No more guilt or shame to bear,

I'll prioritize self-love and self-care

I will start putting me first
