The Anklet
The day the anklet broke
And the beads spread on the surface of the marble floor
She knew it was a sign of parting stroke
One by one she picked up the beads in order to restore
Each of them reminded her of him
And all she did to win

His Smile which could brighten her day
Has now brought her far away
His eyes which was the most beautiful she thought
Filled with mischievous desires and something soft
His lips which was like a sword
Which she knew she could never afford
She thought about the time she used to get caught
But never denied the fact that he was something made to watch

Her heart started to pump fast
As she knew he was still there and things could blast
But she also knew him very well
As to what resides beneath that hard shell
She never wanted to break that shell
Not before his heart would eventually ring the bell

She then thought of the time she was overpowered with all the emotions
And was left with nothing except selfless devotion
Not that she wanted it or kept the condition
But because she for once wished to be chosen

As tears rolled down from her eyes
She now knew she needs to be wise
She decided to maintain a distance
Which was not easy but needed for existence
Hence everything was packed within the blocks
Waiting for him to unlock the locks!
