The sound of silence deep in my soul
I'm losing my power and losing control
tortured inside by the thoughts of death
I looked in his eyes and had nothing left.
Noises and yelling and screams I heard
but with silence today, I spoke a few words
I'm grieving the loss of something I knew
me speaking these words for me is taboo.
Silence allows me the chance to grieve
I was dead in the eyes & wanted to leave
it took me a while to confront the truth
knowing this time I'm healing my youth.
I'm angry and sad and dying with rage
for so many years, this couldn't be staged
with silence around, I'm finally strong
I closed my eyes and I sang a new song.
