Childhood's Carefree Joys
In the hazy glow of memory's light,
I see my childhood days so bright,
Days when the sun was always high,
And worries were just a far-off sigh.

I remember the fields of green and gold,
Where we played games both new and old,
The laughter and shouts that filled the air,
And the scent of summer everywhere.

We chased each other 'round the yard,
With reckless joy and no regard,
For time or place or any care,
Just living life without a care.

We climbed the trees with daring glee,
And watched the world from up so free,
The rustling leaves and swaying boughs,
Made us forget our little woes.

The taste of ice cream on our tongues,
The sound of music and the fun,
Of dancing in the warm moonlight,
Filled our days and our nights.

Oh, how I cherish these memories so,
The carefree days of long ago,
When life was simple, pure and true,
And all our dreams seemed within view.

Now, in the midst of busyness and strife,
I treasure these memories with my life,
For they remind me of a time so pure,
And all the joys that we once knew for sure.
