A Dead Conversation
It was another ending day
As I walk to the park bench
Each step feels like they’re walking away from me
Like going on a roller coaster for the first time
I finally reach the park bench then I see a picture perfect image like he’s me but with all of the perfections
As he’s coming my direction he sits down and mirrors my position
And lays out his disposition

“You’ve had a life surrounded by death
You saw so many things you love take their final breath
But I’ve never seen you in agony”

“I know, it’s a tragedy
But when it follows you around it might as well be your shadow
Or like your best supporting friend with their arm around your shoulder
It makes you apathetic, as the world seems to get colder and colder
I’ve seen family and people I’ve personally known die
They had their opportunity of life taken away
And oddly enough…I still don’t want mine as my blood bleeds dry”

“Well as ‘your best supporting friend’
What if I told you I was here to get you to cross the finish line…a freeing end?
A spot in the ground that’d mask you and make you blend?
A time where apathy wouldn’t exist and neither would you”
