Contemporary abrasions, glued like patchwork,
across dot-to-dots, of worn out tough skin.
Laceration had no cooperation,
in fixing the internal within.
Sore yet sorry,
incomplete yet fixed.
Adored until teary,
it’s beyond my comprehension to ever of lived.

Bruised cuticles, filed teeth,
static hair, snipped down grief.
Solemn hi’s, enthusiastic goodbyes,
scar tissue built beneath bone.

Thick with growth,
thick with nerve.
Resurfacing resistant- tougher- each time.
