With everything that life has to offer,
There's so much to be enjoyed,
But the pleasures of sleeplessness I suffer,
Is the one I cannot avoid.
night after night drowning in thoughts,
never ending steam of pointless ideas,
never to find the peace I've endlessly sought
kept in a prison overrun with all that I fear.
I scream for help but no-one ever comes
it's just me and thoughts that won't go away
can't escape can't bring myself to run
drowning deeper and with every passing day
