Upon a skull, a candle burns bright,
Casting shadows in the heart of night.
Its flickering flame, a ghostly light,
Illuminates the room, a spectral sight.
Outside the window, the world's in flight,
Under the watchful stars' white light.
Yet in this room, by candlelight,
The skull holds court, in the still of night.
