A stolen morsel more precious than gold,
A stolen shirt to keep out the cold,
There is no price to hunger,
There is no price to shelter,
There is no price to kindness.
But humanity pays the price.
The earth still pays the price.
and so does the ocean vast.
Their givings limitless and precious,
a price no one can pay.
yet today, as selfishness helms
the price is paid,
and price insufferable, extensive
till it exhausts all coffers.
