The Gate
#WritcoPoemPrompt8
Every soul that passes the gate,
Has passed a test of fate,
Trudging along on tired feet,
Almost there, refusing to be beat
Eyes closing from the prickling of the chilling breeze
Yet un-beat!
Reach the finish line is not a simple feat
some started with a thousand fleets
surfing the waves to the scary gate
fighting the cold with gnashing teeth
all to experience defeat.
But scorn, not the gate nor the test
both are designed to test your faith
to suffer your soul and watch you break
but the pleasure comes easy, so do not take
keep your mind focused on the golden gate
Every soul that passes the gate
has passed the test of fate,
trudging along on tired feet
Almost there, refusing to be beat.
