FREEDOM AND LIBERATION
A land so wealthy and fertile,
Yet so diverged and filled with thorns,
A populace so powerful and wise,
Yet so conquered and overruled,
A time of peace and evolution,
Yet so bloodied and tension-filled.
Through the land,
They came, plundered, and stole,
They wounded and spread lies and filth,
They cared not about the young and old,
They commanded heartlessly,
While the people longed and coveted for freedom.
The people fought and fell in war zones,
And suffered for years and decades,
Their blood spilled remained on the lands,
A quantity no river can drain,
Yet the shackles of pain remained,
The scars, a constant refrain.
Their story of bravery and courage,
And acts of selfless devotion,
Can never be forgotten forever,
They shed and bled,
They toiled, sweated, and cried,
For this nation to rise!
And now, the land with leaders once so bold and selfless,
Became a land filled with greedy grown old,
The promises left, futile, and denied,
Their words, empty, sly, and wily,
The hope decays as people despair,
As they longed for freedom yet again...
But their hearts wouldn't budge or relent,
Its strength remained undeterred,
With a will, so firm and undying,
Making the people rise again,
Their hearts full of wishes and pride,
They call yet again,
For change, justice, and freedom's fair reflection!
I woke up to a world like this,
Where freedom is so expensive,
And liberation is our daily prayer point,
I dreamed of freedom, of liberation,
Of the open sky and endless seas,
Of a life where I could freely live and walk,
Unfettered, freely being me!
But when I found freedom's door,
It wasn't really what I thought it to be,
For this freedom comes with many things,
And then I learned, that true liberation is found within,
To be free is not to roam,
But to be fully aware and know,
What this world is truly about.
A place built with thorns & filled with roses,
If you take any step wrongly,
You'd get hooked to its thorns,
And get bruised brutally,
This isn't freedom,
It's called ruling by measure, living by terms,
It's up to you to choose your route,
Where you'll be free from the thorns.
